Sour Cherry Cake
Ingredients
Note: (Batter: Mix dry first – then add wet)
· 2 Cups AP flour
· 4tbsp Sugar
· 2 tsp Baking Soda
· 1 egg
· ½ tsp Baking Powder
· 6 tbsp Melted Butter
· ½ Cup Sour Cream
· ½ tsp almond extract
Ingredients for Topping
· 8 Cups cherries
· 1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
· 6 tbsp Granulated sugar
· 2tbsp Lemon Juice mix well
Preparation
1. Combine and mix dry batter ingredients in a bowl
2. Add in wet batter ingredients
3. Put batter in 9” fluted cake pan
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degree Fahrenheit
5. Mix topping ingredients well
6. Pour topping over baked base
7. Bake for 25-30mins or until test stick pulls clean at 350 degree Fahrenheit
